Smith, LaGwenda Rhea GARLAND - Funeral service for LaGwenda Rhea Smith, 63, of Garland was held on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, 11 a.m. at Hurst's Fielder-Baker Chapel in Farmersville. She passed away on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at Baylor Medical Center in Garland. Dr. Bart Barber officiated. Burial was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Farmersville. Hurst's Fielder-Baker of Farmersville was in charge of arrangements. Survivors are her husband, Bruce Smith of Garland; a son, Scott Smith of Midland; sisters, Jaquita Bunch of Avery, Winnetta Morrow of Farmersville and Rowena Liford of Rainbow; one grandson. Gwen Rhea Burnett Smith was born to Robert Davis and Marie Bralley Burnett in 1945. She was Baptized at Snow Hill Baptist church in 1955. She married Bruce Allen Smith in 1967 and graduated with a BA in visual arts from the University of Texas Dallas in 1981. They have one son, Scott Allen Smith and a grandson, Jeremy Allen Dorton.
