GILMER - Funeral services for Becca Carr, 86, of Big Sandy, will be 2 p.m., today, November 30, 2008, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Todd Kaunitz officiating. Interment will be in Hoover Cemetery in Upshur County. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Carr passed away Friday, November 28, 2008, at a Tyler hospital. Becca Carr, 86, the seventh child of Dora Catherine and William Hardy Hancock of Jasper, Texas, was born March 28, 1922, and died November 28, 2008, at ETMC in Tyler, Texas. She graduated from Jasper High School in 1939 with a school career of perfect attendance. Becca lived in Silsbee, Texas, and Beaumont, Texas, prior to moving to Big Sandy in 1997. Her career as a bookkeeper lasted 41 years. She leaves many treasures of pictures and crafts as a result of her artistic talent. Attending church and Bible study was the highlight of her week and a tribute to her faith. Becca was preceded in death by two husbands and a baby. Surviving her are her daughter, Barbara Reuther and husband, Carl Reuther; stepdaughter, Rebecca Vickers and husband, Paul Vickers; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Ralph Byman, Walter Cook, Larry Cowen, Tommy Hill, Jim Hines, Sherrill Walker, Banky Stocks and Al Wells.
