Charlie Cowan, 69, of Route 7 Pensacola, died Friday in a local hospital. A native of Escambia County, he was a retired employee of Newport Industry, he attended the Pensacola Mennonite Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bessie Lee Cowan of Pensacola; four daughters, Mrs. Maxine King and Mrs. Doris Mannily, both of Pensacola, and Mrs. Winifred Christian and Mrs. Ruth Robinson, both of San Diego, Calif.; ten sons, Henry Cowan of Pascagoula, Miss., Albert Cowan of Indiana, Robert Cowan of Alabama, Charles Cowan of Dallas Tex., and Herbert Cowan, Willis Cowan, Alvin Cowan, John Cowan, Everette Cowan and Leonard Cowan, all of Pensacola; and his mother, Mrs. Rilda Cowon of Pensacola; four sisters; Mrs. Viola Davis of Eufaula, Ala., Mrs. Lela Silver, Mrs. Wennie Silver and Mrs. Rosa Lee Bowder, all of Pensacola; one brother, Clarence Cowen of Pensacola; 23 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.
