Bio
Annie Jochec Jurek was born in East Bernard, Texas on November 8, 1908. She was one of thirteen children born to Peter and Frances Jochec. She passed away Friday morning November 21, 2008 at a local healthcare facility. In 1924, she married Charles Joseph Jurek and moved to Baytown in 1938, where they raised cotton for many years. She was a longtime member of K.J.Z.T and St. Joseph Catholic Church, and served on the altar society for many years. She will be remembered for her love of working in her flower beds, playing bingo, crocheting and dressing dolls, and her delicious kolaches. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles, and daughter, Helen Jurek Miller; Annie is survived by her daughter, Babs Buchanan of Baytown; grandchildren, Bucky Buchanan, Jimmy Buchanan, Mike Buchanan, David Buchanan and wife, Trudy, Linda Buchanan, Marianne Bjork and husband, Kevin, Sylvia Foster and husband, Danny, Charline Garrod and husband, Russell, and Elbert (Bubba) Miller and wife, Diane; nineteen great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren.
