The Daily Telegram , December 13, 1948 KUNNEMAN-- Funeral Services Wednesday For Gustav Kunneman Funeral services for Gustav Henry Kunneman, 65, who died at his home at 8 a.m. Sunday, will be held at 2 p.m. at the family home and at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Immanuel Lutheran church, Rev. A.H. Guettler, pastor, officiating. Burial will be made in the Christ Lutheran cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Gass Funeral home from 11 a.m. to 4 u.m. [sic] Tuesday at which thime [sic] the body will be taken to the family home. Gustav Henry Kunneman was born on a farm 10 miles north of Columbus on Nov. 29, 1883, the son of Herman and Anna Kunneman. He was a resident of this community all of his life. He was married to Mrs. Kate Rickert Wolfe on Feb. 3, 1931 by Rev. Otto Batzat at York. They lived on his home place north of Columbus until 1942 at which time they moved to Columbus. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith by the late Rev. Freeze at the Christ Lutheran church. He was a devout member of the Christ Lutheran church while he resided in the rural community and was affiliated with the Immanuel Lutheran church after moving to Columbus. He is survived by his widow, one son, John Gustav; one step-daughter, Mrs. Charles Sladek of Schuyler; two granddaughters, Patricia Jean and Dorothy Mae Sladek of Schuyler; three sisters, Mrs. John Brakenhoof [sic] of Columbus; Mrs. Walter Gertch of Fremont, and Mrs. Anna Lyles of California; two brothers, Walter of Hammond, Ind., and Herman of Columbus. A.H. Guettler, pastor, officiated. Burial was made in the Christ Lutheran cemetery. Pallbearers were Ewald Dohn, Charles Brunken, Carl Riske, Henry Bakenhus, Albert Gigax, and George Schwank.
