Gladys Virginia Cotton Heddins EDGEWOOD - Services for Gladys Virginia Cotton Heddins, 75, Mesquite, formerly of Edgewood, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hiett's LyBrand Funeral Home chapel, Edgewood, with Pat Morris officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Heddins died Nov. 15, 2008, in Mesquite. She was born April 17, 1933, in Edgewood to the late Jasper and Mae Farthing Cotton. She was a graduate of Edgewood High School and worked for Dallas Power and Light Co. and as a private duty nurse for 30 years before retiring in 2000. She was a member of Second Baptist Church, Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melton Odell Heddins, in 1955. Survivors include her son, Mike Heddins, Mesquite; brother, Jack Cotton, Wills Point; sisters, Lillian Holdbrook, Garland, Jenell Bateman, Mesquite, Ruth Bonham, Tulsa, Okla., and Joyce Foster, Mesquite; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
