Alice May (Kohl) Schneider, 94, formerly of Giddings, was born on April 28, 1921, in Harrold, Texas, the daughter of Albert F. and Hedwig (Walbrick) Kohl. She was baptized on May 4, 1924 by Rev. J.J. Hofmann and confirmed on June 9, 1935 by Rev. Paul Holtznen at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harrold, Texas. Her confirmation memory verse was John 10:27-28, "My sheep hear My voice and I know them and they follow Me and I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand." Alice was united in marriage to Rubin Walter Schneider on April 9, 1939 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harrold by Rev. A.O. Kaltwasser. They were blessed with two daughters, Priscilla Gayle and Shirley Ann. She always enjoyed working in her gardens and was especially proud of the beautiful roses and all of the live oak trees she raised and shared with friends all around town. She worked hand in hand with Rubin in his auto related business and in later years enjoyed hearing all about the accomplishments of her great grandchildren. Alice was called to her heavenly home the afternoon of Sunday, February 7, 2016 in Georgetown, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Rubin and her son-in-law, James King. Alice is survived by her daughters, Priscilla King and Shirley and Bob Gold; grandchildren, Nugget and Mark Cunningham, Terri Lynn and Brent Dornburg, Christopher and Andi King, Elizabeth and Jeff Fuller, Roxanne and Michael Borsellino, Lillian King and Lisa Marie King and fiance, Stephen Perez; great grandchildren, McCalley and Landry Cunningham, Dalton and Tuffy Dornburg, Ian and Emma Fuller, Andres and Christina King, Alonna Borsellino and Sandy King; sister, Anna Mae Haynes and a brother, Gilbert Kohl. Funeral services are scheduled at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Wilburn Michalk and Rev. Robert Tiner officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Giddings City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. Serving as pallbearers will Mark Cunningham, Brent Dornburg, Christopher King, Jeff Fuller, Michael Borsellino and Stephen Perez.
