From Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home: Mercedes Cowan Plsek passed away in Pipe Creek on Monday, October 18, 2010, at the age of 89. She was born in Ft. Worth to John and Effie Hoherd on September 16, 1921. She is preceded in death by her parents, her six brothers, her husband Ben Plsek, and her daughter Mernadette Byrom. Even though Mercedes was born a city girl, she embraced a country lifestyle. Being a homemaker was Mercedes' greatest gift to her family. She was a Proverbs 31 mother. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren. Ms. Plsek is survived by two daughters; Andrea Cordray of Huxley Bay and Chester Fritz of Pipe Creek. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
