Varner, David Delaney GILMER - Funeral services for David Delaney Varner, 74, of Big Sandy, will be 4 p.m. today, February 10, 2009, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel, with Charles Davis officiating. Interment will be in Chilton Cemetery in Upshur County. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Varner passed away Saturday, February 7, 2009, at a Tyler hospital. Mr. Varner was born November 8, 1934, in Winona, to Clarence and Elizabeth Varner. He was a retired welder and mechanic with Spencer - Harris of Gladewater, a member of the Church of Christ and a lifetime resident of Big Sandy. Mr. Varner is survived by his sons, David Clarence Varner and Daniel Logan Varner; daughters, Debbie Langford, Tammy Anthony, Rebecca Figueroa and A.J. Pruitt; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and special brother-in-law, Doug Daugherty. He was preceded in death by grandchildren, Melissa Varner and Timothy Varner. Pallbearers will be Bubba Smith, Mikey Figueroa, Justin Pruitt, Leslie Spears, Jacob Pruitt, Joel Daugherty, Randy Gipson and Donald Himel.
