Anniston - Funeral services for Madeleine S. Prickett, 89, of Anniston, will be today, January 17, 2012, at 1 p.m. at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with the Rev. Hal Noble officiating. The family will receive friends today from 12-1 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Prickett passed away on Friday, January 13, 2012, at Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis, Tenn. An Alabama native, Madeleine was the widow of Col. (Ret.) John A. Prickett Jr. of Anniston. Following her husband's death, Madeleine moved to Germantown, Tenn. to be near her son, John E. (Eddy) Prickett and his family. Madeleine was the youngest of nine children of William E. and Lillie Ray Street, of Piedmont. Madeleine will be remembered as an avid Bridge player and a loyal Auburn Tiger Fan. She was an active, long-time member of First United Methodist Church of Anniston. Madeliene is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; grandparents, Teague and Martha Johnston Ray; brothers, Elbert Street, Leo Street and Hoyt Street; sisters, Inez S. Love, Lillian S. Davis, Belva S. Ashford, Clyde S. Reynolds and Elizabeth S. Carroll Alley. Survivors include her son, John E. Prickett and wife, Betty Katherine, of Germantown, Tenn.; grandchildren, Wesley Prickett and Ashley Youngblood and husband, Jason; great-granddaughter, Gracie Youngblood; and several nieces and nephews.
