Son of Andrew/Alexander Szafrajda (b.~1841 POL) Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent Monday, 28 April 1963 LOUP CITY - Egnatz Szafrajda, a native of Sherman County, died Saturday at the age of 78. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Josaphat's Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Constantine Shumski will officiate at the services. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The rosary will be conducted at 8 o'clock this evening in the Steele Funeral Home chapel. Mr. Szafrajda was born at Boelus Feb. 2, 1885, and had spent most of his life in Sherman County. Survivors are his wife, Laura; two sons, Joe, Loup City, and Leonard, Gibbon; four daughters, Mrs. John Pointkowski, Loup City; Mrs. Nellie Shanholts, Omaha; Mrs. Emily Hannerman, Kearney, and Mrs. Floys Smith, Cozad; one sister, Mrs. Mary Stobbe, Loup City, 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
