Bio

Ray Stanley Keetch, 92, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2008 in Salt Lake City from causes incident to age. Ray was born on Christmas morning, December 25, 1915 in Orem, Utah to Martha Thorne and Alfred Keetch. He married Reva Downs on December 15, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Reva passed away on October 6, 2007. They were married for almost 70 years and are now rejoicing being together again. They raised their family in Magna. Ray worked for 40 years as a machinist at Kennecott Copper, retiring in 1977. He loved working in the soil and his flower and vegetable gardens were the envy of the neighborhood. There was nothing he couldn't repair and shared this talent with family, friends and neighbors. He loved fishing and hunting and spending time in the mountains with his family. He was always eager to help anyone who needed his assistance, spending many hours volunteering on church welfare farms and Elders Quorum projects. He and Reva enjoyed working in the Jordan River Temple. He is survived by his daughters, Connie (Bill) Johns and Karen Westover; son, Calvin (Shauna); seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife; daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Randy Martin; and son-in-law, Jon Westover. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the Magna Central Stake Center, 8181 West 3320 South, where friends and family may call on Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
