From The Dallas Morning News September 2008 ================================================ Roberta Carrell Of Ovilla, TX, was a wonderful Christian wife and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She was born October 20, 1918 and passed away Sunday, September 21, 2008 at 5:31 pm to be with the Lord, who she loved and served. Roberta had attended both Ovilla and Duncanville schools; she had a love for sewing and quilting which played a major role in her life. She and her husband, Don were faithful members of Ovilla United Methodist Church. She also was a retiree from the Army Air Force Exchange in Dallas. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Don Carrell; three children, Patsy Sims of DeSoto; Donetta Hahn of Ovilla, and Rev. Ron Carrell and wife, Glenda of Kernersville, NC; six grandchildren, Tim Sims, Ronetta Wilkerson, Tonya Wyatt, Marla Stephens, Meredith Hahn and Josh Hahn; seven great-grandchildren, Loryn Kelley , Kaity, Alan and Austin Wyatt, Brendan, Bethlie and Bradley Stephens; three brothers, James McElroy, Hubert McElroy and wife, Dorothy, Randall McElroy and wife, Romah. Funeral services are 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at Ovilla United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 pm, Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at Jaynes Funeral Chapel, 811 So. Cockrell Hill Road, Duncanville, Texas
