The Taylor Daily Press (Taylor, Tex.) vol. 36, no. 87, Friday, 1 April 1949 page 4 Frank Doering, Prominent Temple Businessman, Dies TEMPLE, April 1 – Final rites for Frank Doering, 63 prominent Temple businessman for nearly 40 years, were held at the First Lutheran Church Thursday. He died in a Temple hospital Tuesday night. Doering was born in Williamson County, Aug. 27, 1885, and lived there until 1906. That year he married Nora Bredthauer and they moved to Bartlett, living there until 1913. They moved to Temple that year and Doering became Ford dealer for Temple, Belton, Bartlett, Cameron and Rogers. He retired from the automobile business in 1925 and shortly thereafter began construction of the Doering Hotel, now the Hawn. After retiring from the hotel business, he became interested in real estate and oil leases, then in the cotton business. Survivors are his wife, a daughter Mrs. R. K. Harlan; two grandsons; five brothers, Gus Doering of Austin, Charles Doering of Georgetown, Fred Doering of Mexia, Willie Doering of Brenham and Otto Doering of Walburg, and four sisters, Mrs. Harold Keishnick of San Antonio, Mrs. May Lesiker, Mrs. Ben Kurio and Mrs. Henry Jacobs, all of Walburg.
