Bio

Thanks to contributor #47226369; Death of Frank Otlewski Mr. Frank Otlewski, one of Sherman County's oldest settlers passed away at his home in Loup City last Wednesday evening March 6th. Mr. Otlewski came to this country over thirty years ago and ever since has been one of Sherman County's most progressive farmers. He lived on a farm northwest of town and about two years ago he moved on a farm west of town where he resided until about a week before his death, when he moved to Loup City from which he contracted a cold which together with his frail health due to a stroke of paralysis about six months ago, was the direct cause of his death. Mr. Otlewski leaves a wife and three small children from his present union and four children from his first union to mourn his loss. In politics Mr. Otlewski was a republican, having been a nominee of his party for county treasurer a number of years ago and had it not been that his party was in the minority he would no doubt have been elected. The funeral services were held from St. Josaphats church last Friday and people from all parts of the county were in attendance, attesting to the high esteem in which he was held wherever known. The deceased was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and leaves a policy of two thousand dollars. The remains were laid to rest in the St. Francis cemetery and thus ended the career of another worthy Sherman county citizen. The sympathy of the community goes to the sorrowing relatives.
