Congleton, Sallie Carroll PALESTINE - Services for Sallie Carroll Congleton, 95, Palestine, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home chapel, Palestine, with Chaplain Ray Parton officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Park. Mrs. Congleton died Nov. 3, 2008, in a Palestine nursing home. She was born June 30, 1913, in Laneville to the late James Albert and Carry Ada Ella Pierce King. She worked at the Westwood School Cafeteria and in the fabric department at Gibson's Department Store. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robbie Carroll and J.W. Congleton, and son, Bobby Ray Carroll. Survivors include her daughters, Marie Nix, Palestine, and Leoma Doherty, Hitchcock; sons, Billy Wayne Carroll, Palestine, and Jerry Paul Carroll, Spanish Fork, Utah; sisters, Velma Hansen, Pennsylvania, and Clara Cabell, Houston; brother, James King, Sachse; 12 grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
