Bio

Mary Elsie Hustak was born May 12, 1914 in Onamia, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Joseph Hustak and Mary (Nedved) Hustak of the Czech Republic. She had three brothers, Adolph Joseph Hustak, Charles Louis Hustak, and Frank Hustak. She attended and graduated from the Onamia schools. Mary moved to Fargo, North Dakota and there married Frank Voracek on November 5, 1934. Together they had one son, Donald Francis Voracek. She worked at Herbst Department Store and Royal Jewelers in Fargo. She retired to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota in 1973. She spent the winters in Arizona and Hawaii; summering in Detroit Lakes. Mary moved to Moline, Illinois in 2003. She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, sewing and crocheting. Mary died January 16, 2008 at the age of 93 years. She is survived by her son and his wife Lilli Iseman of Moline. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1978. Mass of Christian Burial was held at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.
