Son of James Polly Brown & Eunice Reasor Married Sarah Geraldine Petty, 8 Jan 1851, Manti, Sanpete, Utah Daughter - Sarah Catharine Brown Married Lora Ann Taylor, 18 Jun 1852, Manti, Sanpete, Utah Children - James Albert Brown, Neuman Brown, Martha Ann Brown, Lora Isabella Brown, William Ferguson Brown, Stephen Alonzo Brown, Mary Augusta Brown, Jared Taylor Brown, Joseph Samuel Brown, Vera Brown, Alice Edna Brwon, Jared Vernon Brown Married Jemima Bell Pectol, 14 May 1857, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah Children - Sarah Jane Brown, George Frederick Brown, Eunice Lora Brown, Jemima Brown, Jacob Brown Our Pioneer Heritage Volume 1 Women and Children of the Mormon Battalion Newman was born July 18, 1830 and was only sixteen years of age when he accompanied his parents, James and Eunice R. Brown on the trek of the Mormon Battalion. He was also a teamster, and went to Pueblo with his father's family where he spent the winter of 1846–47. After his arrival in Utah in 1847, he married Sarah G. Pettey, Lora Ann Taylor and Jemima Bell Pectol. They made their first home in Sanpete County. Newman died April 6, 1879. Deseret News, May 7, 1879, Page #16 DIED, Near Badger Creek, about eight miles from Lee's Ferry, on his way to Arizona, April 12th, 1879, NEWMAN BROWN, Sen., aged 47 years and 9 months.
