Bio
LaFollette had lived in Carthage since 1967 moving from Seminole. He was awarded the Twelfth Man Award from the Carthage Athletic Booster Club in January. LaFollette was born Feb. 26, 1923 in McKinney and was the son of Chris and Leatha Wilson LaFollette. He was a member of the Association of Secondary School Principals, the Texas High School Coaches Association, the Carthage Noon Lions Club and was a life member of the Texas State Teachers Association. He was also a Navy veteran of World War II and an elder at the West Panola Church of Christ. LaFollette is survived by his wife, Mary LaFollette of Carthage; two sons, Collin LaFollette of Woodlands and Steve Hall of Irving; two daughters, Katy Gorman of Houston and Sherry Brewster of Carthage; one sister, Ouita Honea of San Diego, Calif.; a brother-in-law, Jack Honea of San Diego; and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Jimerson Funeral Chapel with burial at Restland Memorial Park. Nels Thompson officiated and elders and deacons of the Carthage Church of Christ served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were family friends, students and former students of LaFollette.
