(1895 - 1988) - [Columbus Telegram, January 3, 1988, pg. 2, col. 1] Mrs. Helen Lusche, 92, of rural Columbus died Saturday at Columbus Community Hospital. Services are at 2 p.m., Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Rev. Charles Gierke officiating. They will be preceded by a family prayer service at 1:45 p.m. Burial is in Roselawn Cemetery, Columbus. Visitation is from 2 to 9 p.m., Monday and from 9 a.m. to noon, Tuesday at Gass-Haney Chapel, Columbus, and from 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday at the church. Mrs. Lusche was born Oct. 14, 1895 north of Columbus, the daughter of Dietrich and Dorothea (Rodehorst) Bartels. She attended Immanuel Country School and married Ernest Lusche July 29, 1924 in Iowa. She lived in the Columbus area all her life. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Surviving are one son, Clayton, of Columbus, and one grandson, Mark. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; four brothers and three sisters. Memorials may be directed to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Building Fund.
