Mrs. Hessie Rue "Tommye" Jones, 90, of Meridian, passed away Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, in Meridian Manor. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at the Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. Hussie Rue, known to her family and friends as "Tommye," was born in Sherman, Texas, to the late Charlie Richard Styles and Juno (King) Styles. She married Hughlon C. Jones in 1936 in Lubbock. Tommye lived in Lubbock for many years before moving to Meridian. She was a member of the Meridian First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 17, 1986. Survivors include daughters, Patricia Ruth Boswell and husband, "Bos", of Meridian, and Barbara Williams and husband, Bobby, of Lubbock; son, Jessie Carl Jones and wife, Christy, of Burnet; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and sister, Fannye Styles, of Houston.
