Bio

Willis, Bessie ALTO - Services for Bessie Willis, 91, Alto, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery under direction of O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Directors, Alto. Mrs. Willis died Oct. 11, 2008, in Lufkin. She was born April 1, 1917, in Linwood to the late Wood and Evelyn Agnew Findley. She was a homemaker and member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her sons, Carlos York and Ralph Willis. Survivors include daughters, Norma Henton, Los Angeles, Calif., Cynthia Howard and Meria Willis, both of Houston; grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Published in the Tyler Morning Telegraph on 10/17/2008
