Parent: Melvin Walter AUSTIN Parent: Helen Neoma Spouse: Lana Mae WILSON Funeral services for Russell Andrew (Shorty) Austin, 74, of Levelland will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at South Plains Church in Levelland with Pastor Eddie Trice, officiating. Burial will be in City of Levelland Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home in Levelland. He died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008. He was born on Aug. 28, 1934, in Abernathy and graduated from Whitharral High School in 1953. He was salutatorian of his class. He was a carpenter and a farmer and worked for Bell Mobil Homes until his retirement. He married Lana Mae Wilson on Dec. 2, 1972, in Midland. Survivors include his wife, two sons, a daughter, two brothers, three sisters, and four grandchildren. LubbockOnline.com
