Married Cleo Evadean Wood October 8, 1932 in Clovis, New Mexico. ---------------------------------------- Home in 1910 Justice Precinct 1, Henderson, Texas, with parents and sibling. Home in 1920 Justice Precinct 1, Henderson, Texas, with parents and siblings. Home in 1930 Precinct 5, Hockley, Texas, with parents and siblings. Home in 1940 Hockley, Texas, with spouse, CLEO, and children. Home in 1950 Lampasas, Texas, with spouse, and children. ********************************* James Holland Ballow James (Jim) Holland Ballow was born July 4, 1909 in Athens, Texas, Henderson County, to the union of W.O. and Bessie Holland Ballow. On October 8, 1932, in Clovis, NM, he was united in marriage to Cleo Wood. They shared nearly 68 years together. In 1948, they moved to the Evant area where they made their home. Jim was a hard worker. He was a rancher and was also involved greatly as a leader in 4-h and FFA in Lampasas Cou9nty, He was a devoted husband and loving and caring father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather. He was a member and supporter of the United Methodist Church in Evant. James Holland Ballow passed away early Sunday morning, Sept. 24, as a hospital in Gatesville. He had obtained the age of 91 years. He is survived by his wife, Cleo Ballow of Evant; two daughters, Charlotte Seale and her husband Grafton of Lampasas, and Patsy Moore and her husband Jemmie of Evant; one son, Jim Ballow and wife Margaret of Evant; two sisters, Frances Pardue and her husband Thomas of Houston, and Charlotte Camp and her husband Earl of Lubbock; one sister-in-law, Mary Ballow of Levelland; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sister, Dempsey Sharbutt, Mary Jo Robinson and Clara Haile; one brother, Jack Ballow; one granddaughter, Blanche Allen; and one great-grandson, Lewis Holland Allen. Funeral services for Mr. James Holland Ballow were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at the United Methodist Church in Evant, TX, with the Rev. Bob Beeman officiating. Pallbearers were Jim Ballow, Jem Ed Moore, Doyle Waine Seale, Perry Payne, Tommy Allen, Kenny Glynn and Anthony Seale. Honorary pallbearer was Roy Statzer. Interment followed a the Himes Chapel Cemetery in Lampasas County. ============================
