Uncle Tobe Lacy's Rites at Winters. Winters, July 10--Funeral was to be at 4 p.m today in the Winters Church of Christ for R.L. (Uncle Tobe) Lacy, 92, who died at 12:45 a.m Wednesday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Allen Alden of South Ballinger. Norman Gibson, Ballinger Church of Christ minister, was to officiate and burial in the Northview cemetery was to be directed by Spill funeral home. Born at Rome (sic), Tenn., June 15, 1855 (sic), Mr. Lacy was married there in 1879 to Rachael Smittle. The family moved moved (sic) to Hunt county, Texas, in 1890 and later lived in Delta and Lamar counties before coming to Runnels in 1825. Mrs. Lacy died in 1932. Mr. Lacy had been living in South Ballinger since 1939. He had been a member of the Church of Christ since 1922. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Alden, Mrs. T. R. McDonald of Leonard, Mrs. Zena Mayfield of San Angelo; two sons, J.C. Lacy, Winters, and A.O. Lacy of Frankline community; 31 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
