Truitt, Betty Jean GILMER - Services for Betty Jean Truitt, 78, Gilmer, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Croley Funeral Home chapel, Gilmer with Perry Cowan officiating. Burial will follow in Morris Cemetery in Upshur County. Mrs. Truitt died Oct. 9, 2008, in Gilmer. She was born Feb. 5, 1930, in Upshur County to the late Claude and Marie Venn McKnight. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Mrs. Truitt was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Truitt. Survivors include her husband, Eligah "Dub" Truitt, Gilmer; son, Terry Neal Truitt, Dallas; daughter, J.P. Rhonda Welch, Gilmer; brothers, Jerry and Olan McKnight, both of Gilmer; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Croley Funeral Home, Gilmer.
