Evelyn Alder Bowman, 81, passed away Oct. 28, 1999 in St. George, Utah. Born August 25, 1918 in Park City, Utah to Ervin Alder and Celestia Strong Cummings. Married G. Merlin Bowman on Oct. 6, 1947 in Caldwell, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized Sept. 3, 1968 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. As Evelyn always said..."Bowman was the Love of my life". She was a member of the LDS Church. Evelyn was employed at the Salt Lake City Street Department and retired from the Salt Lake County Sherrif's Office after 30 years of service. She was a Days of '47 Princess and a hair model. Member of the Lady Elks and was an avid Bowler, Bridge and Pinocle player. She was also a member of the West side and St. George Senior Centers. She is preceded in death by her husband and a son, Craig Walter Bowman. Survived by: daughter, Mrs. Gerry (Sonja) Carnell of Hurricane, Ut.; a son Kent M. of North Salt Lake, Ut.; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
