The Lexington Leader October 9, 2008 Nolan E. Barr, Sr. November 24, 1937 – September 30, 2008 Funeral services for Nolan E. Barr Sr., 70 of Paige, Texas were held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2008 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. Burial followed in the Paint Creek Cemetery in Paige, Texas. Visitation was held on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral home in Giddings. Mr. Barr passed away at his residence early Tuesday morning. He was born on November 24, 1937 in Travis County, Texas to William & Emily (Dietrich) Barr. He was united in marriage to Ruby Jenke on June 28, 1958 in Paige, Texas. Mr. Barr served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and retired from the Army in 1975 with over 20 years of service to his country. Mr. Barr was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Nolan Barr, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Barr of Paige; his children, Kenneth Barr & his wife Tammy of Austin, Sharon Barr Sheedy & her husband David of Kyle, Robert Barr of Paige and Diane Barr Dietrich of Paige; and his grandchildren, Bradley Barr, Heather Barr, Ryan Sheedy, Brandon Barr, Robyn Sheedy, Jessica Barr and Chloe Dietrich.
