Henri Clay was married to (1) Marie Euphamie Rayon and (2) Philomene Corine Potier. He was the father to Joseph Vincent Clay . Henri's burial entry can be found in the register at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church, Arnaudville, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. His grave is not identified with a marker but it is believed that he is buried beneath his daughter, Laura Clay Gil.
