Bio

The Carnegie Herald Obituary W.N. Dickenson was born in Jackson county, Mo. October 9, 1833, died at his home in Carnegie Saturday, April 5, aged 84 years and 6 months. Funeral services were conducted at he Methodist church, South, Sunday at 3:30 by the pastor and the body was laid to rest in the Carnegie cemetery. Mr. Dickenson professed faith in Christ in his early boyhood days and united with the Methodist church, South, and for sixty years lived a faithful and useful life in service of the church. He served as a steward in the church for ten years. He, with his wife, had recently moved to Carnegie from Hobart. He immediately put his membership in the church here saying, "I don't want to die out of the church." He was confined to his bed for several weeks. The writer visited him a number of times, but never a word of complaint died her ever utter. He was perfectly resigned to the Master's will and expressed himself more than once as being ready to go. He leaves a wife, one son and a host of friends to mourn his death. May the comforting influence of the Holy Spirit ever abide with those sorrowing loved one, is the earnest prayer of the pastor.
