Hattie Strother Mallett died Sunday, April 26, 1992, at Lane Memorial Hospital, Zachary. She was 97, a native of Pitkin, former resident of Foresthill and resident of Baker. Survived by a daughter, Ruby W. Bailey, Baker; a son, Tom Willis, Alexandria; two sisters, Elma Edwards, Glenmora, and Nellie Wisby, Pitkin; two brothers, Riley Strother, Jacksonville, Fla., and Ira Strother, Baton Rouge; 21 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and 37 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Dennie Mallett; a granddaughter, Marie Bailey; a brother, Phillip Strother; and parents, Mr. & Mrs. David Strother. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Baker.
