Arnold E. Friesen, age 88 of Henderson, NE died Sunday, February 4, 2007 at Henderson. He was born May 19, 1918 in rural Hamilton County, NE to Peter G and Margaretha M. (Epp) Friesen. Arnold was a lifelong York County area farmer and a member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson. He participated in the Civilian Public Service during WWII from August 1942 to March 1946. On December 12, 1941 he was married to Irene Elizabeth Regier at Henderson. He is survived by one daughter Shirley and her husband Ardean Goertzen of Lincoln; three sons, Dwight Friesen and his wife Vera of Lincoln, Keith Friesen and his wife Deb of Henderson, and Boyd Friesen and his wife Deborah also of Henderson; 11 grandchildren, Lori and husband Kevin Quiring of Hampton, NE, Debbie and husband Doug Janzen of Hampton, Stacey and husband Tim Roszhart of Des Moines, IA, Scott Friesen and wife Kristen of Grand Island, NE, Troy Friesen and wife Adeana of Lincoln, Jared Friesen and wife Elizabeth of Omaha, Courtney Friesen of York, Tristan Friesen and fiancé Marianne Salcido of Ft. Drum, NY, Danielle and husband Craig Bethune of McCool Jct., Jason Friesen of Ord, NE, Melanie Friesen of Henderson; 24 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister Lela and husband Virgil Mierau of St. Petersburg, FL, three sisters-in-law, Lucille Friesen, Pansy Janzen and Bertha and her husband Carl Peters all of Henderson. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, two brothers, and a great-grandson. Funeral services were held Thursday, February 8, 2007 at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson with the Reverend George Kauffman officiating. Burial was in the Bethesda Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Bethesda Radio Broadcast.
