Bio

Gladys Harmon,daughter of Lucy(Maudlin)and William Austin, was born Jan.11,1910, in Grant City,Mo. and passed away at Clearview Nursing Home in Mount Ayr,Iowa Sept 25,2008. She married Frankie D. Barnett. He died in 1966. On Sept. 2,1968, She married Roy D. Harmon. He died in October 1979. Gladys was a homemaker and cook at church camps and Mount Ayr restaurants for 20 years. She was a member of Mount Ayr Assembly of God Church. Survivors include her son Max(Ruth) Barnett; stepson Gordon Harmon; stepdaughter Margery Thorson; daughter-in-law Betty Barnett; 10 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren, 13 great- great- grandchildren and sister-in- law Maxine Norris. Gladys was preceded in death by her husbands; her parents; son Rothmer Barnett; brothers and sister-in-law, Raymond and Beulah Austin and Glen and Maggie Austin; granddaughters, Fern Epperson and Theresa Polacek; grandson Edward Dale Barnett; great-grandchildren, Richard and DeAnn Epperson and step-sons, Milo and Dale Harmon..
