Thanks to contributor #47466150; Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent Monday, April 25, 1966 ASHTON (Special Dispatch)-Miss Celia Gorecki, 69, died Saturday in a St. Paul Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Paplin. The Rev. Milan Kopushar will offer the requiem mass. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Ashton. The Rev. Michael Szczesny will conduct the graveside services. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday at Badura Funeral Home in Loup City. Miss Gorecki was born June 18, 1896, to John and Mary (Mendyck) Gorecki in Howard County. She attended school at Paplin and lived all her life in that area. Following the death of her parents, she lived with her brothers, Steve and Frank. She was a member of the Altar Society of her church. She is survived by three brothers, Steve, Frank and Alex, all of Ashton, and two sisters, Mrs. Tony Krajewski of Omaha and Miss Katherine Gorecki of Ashton. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John and Rob, and three sisters, Mrs. Helen Smedra, Mrs. Mary Swanek and Mrs. Magdaline Swanek.
