Hattie Lois Garner Aug. 12, 1921 ~ Aug. 29, 2008 5 days ago | 11 views | 0 | 0 | | Funeral services for Lampasas resident, Hattie Lois Garner, 87, were Sept. 1 at Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas. Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Garner died Friday, Aug. 29 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital. She was born in Hamilton County, the daughter of Samuel Higgins Carrigan and Sara Easter "Pearl" Cox Carrigan. She married William Henry "Smokey" Garner on Sept. 9, 1939, and he preceded her in death in 1993. Her parents, five sisters, and four brothers also preceded her in death. Mrs. Garner was a member of the First Baptist Church in Burnet. Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn "Katy" Gilmore and husband William R. "Bill" Gilmore of Burnet and Henrietta Garner Kidd of Haltom City; three grandsons, Travis Wayne Kidd and wife Robin, William Clay Gilmore and wife Rhonda, and Glen Russell Gilmore and wife Holly; seven great-grandchildren, Caleb Joseph Kidd, Cami Kay Kidd, JaciKay Cassidy Kidd, William Blayne Gilmore, Brooklynn Michele Gilmore, William Cole Gilmore and Jessie Makenna Gilmore; and a sister-in-law, Willie Lou "Bill" Burns of Graham. The family requests that memorials be made to Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn St., Dallas, TX 75219
