Rebecca Priscilla Speegle was born on October 3, 1838, in Marion County, Tennessee and she was the first born child of nine children born to Lorenzo Jackson Speegle and Eleanora Bible . Rebecca had six sisters: Susanna Matilda Speegle Campbell (born 11/10/1839 & died 12/17/1911, married Y. J. Campbell); Lydorona Speegle (born 2/28/1841 & died in infancy); Elizabeth Isabelle Speegle Kidd (born 2/3/1843 & died 4/6/1920, married Nathan Jefferson Kidd ) Mary Esther Speegle Basham (born 4/5/1846 & died 3/15/1901, married Jasper Newton Basham ); Eva Aramitta "Mittie" Speegle Parrott (born 12/24/1850 & died ?/?/?, married Joseph Benjamin Parrott ) and Martha Eleanora Speegle Purl (born 11/29/1852 & died 2/10/1921, married Henry Carter Purl . Rebecca had two brothers: Adam Lafayette Speegle (born 12/21/1844 & died in infancy) and George "General" Washington Speegle (born 1/3/1849 & died 9/22/1916, married Belle Purl Speegle ). Rebecca was married to William Russell Wagner at McLennan County, Texas, on January 6, 1859 by J.C. Newton, J.P. Together, Rebecca and William Wagner had twelve children: Mark Worth (5/15/1860-12/25/1924), Mattie Alice (11/12/1861-6/4/1933), William Patience (7/13/1864-3/6/1868), John Jackson "Jackie" (2/9/1866-4/16/1904), James Jefferson (10/27/1867-4/29/1954), Wallace Walter (1/5/1869-7/1/1931), Mitta Eleanor (7/9/1870-5/9/1902), George Washington (4/30/1872-6/28/1944), Lola Alvaretta (7/31/1874-7/?1/1958), Baby Wagner (7/27/1876-7/27/1876), Solomon Embry (4/5/1878-9/18/1879) and Susan Elizabeth (10/2/1879-3/??/1907).
