US Army World War II TEC5 Leslie E. Davis accidental death Cause of Loss, Vehicle collision & explosion Unit Hometown: service# Awards: Details of career here. Notes On December 21 1942 Pfc. Avery was Driving a truck carrying a land mine it collided with a Corps of Engineers vehicle. Both vehicles exploded into flames. Avery and the 6 Army personnel including Davis were killed, burned beyond recognition. All 7 ultimately were buried with military honors in this Tennessee mass grave.
