Bio

Gilbert D. Bowling Sr., 71, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, at his home with his family by his side. Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., with the Rev. Nathan Tucker officiating. Interment: Bluebonnet Hlls Memorial Park. Visitation: The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Bowling was a resident of Haltom City for many years and was an ironworker in construction. He was a native of Muenster. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Ruby Bowling; a brother, Ronald Bowling; and two sisters, Della Collum and Billie Cole. Survivors: Wife of 52 years, Cecilia Bowling; daughters, Vickie Collum and husband, Don, of Arlington and Susan Hayes of Arlington; son, Gilbert Daniel Bowling Jr. and wife, Darla, of North Richland Hills; sisters, Earleen Collum and husband, Robert, of Arlington and Shirley Kendrick and husband, Standley, of West Virginia; brother, Gerald Bowling and wife, Carolyn, of Hurst; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many dear friends.
