Obituary in The Shreveport Journal September 3, 1966: Loyal Hartzell Johns, 72, of Keathchie, a relative, died early today at his home following a sudden illness. He was the step father of Mrs. R. H. Tabor, and the brother of Dr. Barron Johns and Bayard Johns, all of Shreveport. Mr. Johns, a native and lifelong resident of the Keatchie area, was a retired farmer. Other survivors include his wife, Mrs. Julia Davidson Johns, Keatchie and another step-daughter, Mrs. C. L. Foxworth, Rosewell, N.M. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 4 p.m. in the Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. C. L. Foxworth, son-in-law of Mr. Johns, and the Rev. James L. Dickerson, pastor of the Providence Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Providence Cemetery under direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Shreveport.
