Bio

William married Hannah Persohn in Wisconsin. In 1864, they had one daughter, Emma Wilhelmina Richard. William was mustered into service March 22, 1865. His regiment and rank at time of his death was 11th Wisconsin Infantry, Vol. Private Co. G. He died on Aug. 9, 1865 of disease in the Marine Hospital in Mobile, Alabama. He was age 35 & was born in the Kingdom of Germany. He was buried on August 10, 1865. His residence prior to enlistment was Ahnapee, Kewaunee Co., WI.
