From the web site: http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ne/county/platte/vitals/lusches.html LUSCHE, HEINRICH (June 1, 1823 - November 7, 1888) - [Columbus Journal, November 14, 1888] November 7th, after a few days' illness, at his residence on Shell Creek, Henry Lusche, aged 65 years, 5 months and 7 days. The remains were interred at the cemetery near the Lutheran church Nov. 9th, Rev. Chris. Moessner preaching the funeral serman. Mr. Lusche was born at Sage, Oldenburg, Germany, and immigrated to America in 1852, coming to Nebraska in 1856, and was one of the first settlers of Platte county. How highly the deceased was respected by all who knew him was shown by the large number of friends who followed his remains to their final resting place; the funeral train was probably the largest ever wetnessed [sic] in this vicininy [sic]. The deceased was in good circumstances owning one of the largest farms on Shell Creek. He leaves a widow and 8 children, 5 sons and 3 daughters to mourn his loss. His parents were Johann Behrend Grotelüschen and Anna Maria Dicke. He changed his surname to Luschen Contributor: Squeegee (48148950)
