CHRISTIAN ADVOCATE VOL. XXXVII. NO. 17 NASHVILLE, APRIL 28, 1877 LOUISA CLAY RAY died Oct. 18 1876. She was born in Bedford co., Tenn., in 1809; was born again in early life, and ever after her lot was cast with Methodism. SOLOMON RAY was born in South Carolina in 1808. In early life he gave himself to God and the Church, and for many years was an exhorter, tried, true, and beloved. In 1825 he was married to Louisa Clay, of Bedford co., Tenn. From the day of their marriage till death parted them in 1863, they worked together in the vineyard of their Lord. Many are the preachers of the Tennessee Conference who remember the warm welcome they have so often received at the home of Solomon Ray, near Smith's Chapel, Lincoln county. DAVID G. RAY.
