Bio

Daughter of Peter & Frances (Allison) Liss. Married to Leonard N. LaBenz on 4-7-1937 at Albion, NE. She and her husband lived and farmed in Albion, Richland, David City and Columbus for 25 years. They moved to Columbus in 1954 and she worked for Dale's Electronics and B & D, and also was a waitress and worked at the Columbus Race Track. She sold Studio Girl Cosmetics and Avon for 50 years. She moved to Fremont in 1976. Her husband died April 23, 1999, after 62 years of marriage. Survivors include: a son, John LaBenz of Omaha; daughters, Rose Marie (and husband, Ed) Jarosz of Omaha and Pat (and husband, A.J.) Herrold of Seward; sisters, Delores Kodad of Lincoln and Irene Liss of Columbus; brother-in-law, Merlin (and wife, Mary Lou) Labenz; sisters-in-law, Donna (and husband, Don) Merten, Lillian Liss, Monda Karmann, Rose Labenz and Geraldine Liss; grandchildren, David and Rosa Bohuslavsky, Debi and John Blomstedt, Doug and Carol Bohuslavsky, Jesse and Karen Herrold, Rochelle and Scott Calahan, D.R. Herrold, Nick and Ryan LaBenz; and great-grandchildren, David and Jeffrey Bohuslavsky, J.C. Arryn and Grace Blomstedt, Helen Bohuslavsky, Kristoff, Dyson, Vancent and Teyla Herrold. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two infant sons; an infant grandson, Derek Herrold; brothers, Adolph and Peter Liss; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pauline (Labenz) Hellbusch, Sylvester Labenz, Elizabeth and Dusty Miller, Viola and Nelce Martinsen, Frances and John Underwood, Rose Liss, Raymond Labenz, Wilfred Karmann and Ed Kodad.
