Graveside services for Ruby Mae Bowen, 79, of Tyler, formerly of Hopkins County, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, in Martin Springs Cemetery with the Rev. B.J. Teer officiating. No formal visitation is scheduled. Ms. Bowen died Tuesday, Aug. 12, at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. Ruby Bowen was born on July 9, 1929, in Winnsboro, the daughter of Charles and Bessie Hartman Leverton. They preceded her in death. Ms. Bowen was a homemaker. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Weldon Bowden of Lindale; two grandchildren, Cole Bowen and David Paschall; and two great-grandchildren. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Weldon Bowden of Lindale; two grandchildren, Cole Bowen and David Paschall; and two great-grandchildren. Ms. Bowen was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia; one brother, Oscar Leverton; and three sisters, Laura Newland, Blanche Canaday and Ester Rodgers. Tapp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
