Married on 22 June 1892 in Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas to William Oscar Hightower. ********** San Antonio Express San Antonio, Texas Monday, August 9, 1965, page 17 HIGHTOWER Mrs. Vernon Lane Hightower, 97, 932 W. Woodlawn Ave., died August 6. Mrs. Hightower was born in Pleasant Hill, La., has been a resident of San Antonio 65 years. Member of the Travis Park Methodist Church. She taught at the Georgetown University and at the time of her death was one of the oldest living graduates. Survivors: Daughters, Mrs. Cornelia Yeomans, Santa Cruz, Calif., Mrs. Rebecca Maxwell, Mrs. Vernon Smith, both of San Antonio, Tex., 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren. Services 3:30 p.m. Monday, August 9, Roy Akers Funeral Chapels, 515 N. Main Ave. Pallbearers, Mr. Felix Hannah, Mr. Ed Searcy, Col. T. L. Allen, Mr. Julian Thomas, Mr. G. V. Jackson, Col. Barton G.
