Eugene R. Drummond, 66, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Columbus Community Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Columbus Cemetery. Pastor Mike Moser will be officiating. Eugene (Bush) Raymond Drummond was born in Omaha, Nebraska on March 24, 1959, to Melvin D. Sr and Betty "Darlene" (Lewis) Drummond. They moved to Columbus, Nebraska, where Gene grew up. Eventually, he moved to North Platte, Nebraska. Gene was a concrete / construction laborer for over 25 years in the North Platte area. He was an avid outdoorsman his entire life. He loved to hunt and fish. It was in his nature to pass down his knowledge of the outdoors, not just to his own children and grandchildren, but others as well. Gene was a very devoted and protective father. He taught his family the importance of standing up for what they believed in, and the importance of being "a Drummond". Gene was a very strong willed man, but soft hearted, who always told it like it was, even if you weren't ready to hear it. But it was always the tough truth. He truly had an aura about him, he was bigger than life itself. He was a generous man and came to know many people throughout his life, most of which became a second family to him. Eugene is survived by: Daughter – Jerrea Voichoskie-Drummond Grandson – Jimmy Eads Granddaughter – BreAnn Eads Daughter – Shureese Drummond Granddaughter – Blaize Drummond Son – Joshua Drummond Grandson – Justin Drummond Granddaughter – Alyssa Drummond Grandson – Kllyde Drummond Grandson – Naylen Drummond Daughter – Lori Drummond "His Favorite" – Sasha (his Husky) His cat – Kibby Brothers – Melvin Drummond Jr., Michael (Diane) Drummond, Randy Drummond, and Kevin (Anita) Drummond Sister – Brenda (Wes) Iiams Many beloved devoted nephews and nieces. First Wife – Jennie Flash Memorable Friend - Judy Lloyd Many Special North Platte "family" and friends. Eugene was preceded in death by: Parents – Melvin D.
