She grew up in Olivia but graduated from Bird Island High School in 1967. After graduation she worked various places in the surrounding communities. She worked for Citizens Bank in Olivia, Floral Vine in Bird Island, Bremer Bank in Willmar, as a para for the Bird Island School, and also worked at Page Drug and Thrifty White Pharmacy, both in Olivia. Phyllis was united in marriage to John Moudry on April 19, 1969, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia. Together they made their home in Olivia and were blessed with four sons: Chad, Todd, Eric, and Cory. While her boys were young, she didn't work outside of the home until they were all in school. She was a small business owner, operating 'Phyl's Roller Rink' in the Armory building in Olivia for six years, as well as 'Designs on Garments,' selling clothing out of her home later in life. Phyl became a widow in 1992 and remained living in Olivia. For over 30 years, Phyl found friendship and companionship with her significant other, Bill Olson. Together, they shared her favorite "child," a sweet dog named Oreo. Many memories were made together at Bill's cabin on Big Kandiyohi Lake. Her organization and leadership skills made her a great asset to any organization and committee she was a part of, she was active at St. Aloysius Catholic Church and Relay for Life. Phyl enjoyed her time being part of many bowling teams and card clubs and also loved playing Bingo and Bunco. Her family was always put first; she cherished her sons, all throughout their lives she followed along with their sports and events and loved supporting her grandchildren. Phyl's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Vista Prairie at Copperleaf and St. Croix Hospice for the excellent care they showed to her and their family. Phyl is survived by her four sons: Chad (and Dawn) Moudry of Crozet, VA, Todd (and Kayleen) Moudry of Perham, MN, Eric Moudry (and significant other, Tara Graeber) of Big Lake, MN, Cory Moudry (and fiancé, Sara Stiele) of Eden Prairie, MN; her significant other, Bill Olson of Olivia; her 17 grandchildren; her five great-grandchildren; her siblings: Jeff (and Shirley) Knisley of Banner, WY, Sue (and Brad) Klinghagen of Olivia, Mark (and Janet) Knisley of Cortez, CO, and Mike (and Annette) Knisley of Gering, NE; her beloved dog, Oreo; and many nieces, nephews, other dear relatives and friends. Phyl was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Bernadine; and husband, John. Blessed Be Her Memory Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Olivia, MN
