Bio

The Weekly Democrat-News of Marshall, MO, carried this bit of society news, 3 July 1913: "Miss Laura Parks of 420 East Yerby and Miss Lurline Thorp of Napton are spending a few days with Mrs. George Parks at the latter's country home north of Marshall. Word from Miss Parks Wednesday said they were having a dellightful time." Two weeks later, Laura married Porter Allen Marshall, also from Saline County, MO. The couple lived in Idaho for about a dozen years and then moved to California.
