Fairfield Recorder, Friday 13 Jul 1923. FREESTONE CITIZEN DIES IN ELLIS CO. Mr. Sid Evans, aged 61, an old resident of Freestone County, died last Saturday at home of his daughter, Mrs. Lott Penrod, at Crisp, in Ellis County, where Mr. Evans was visiting. He had been in bad health several years. His remains were brought here and interred in Antioch cemetery, near Turlington. Mr. Evans is survived by the following children: Mrs. Lott Penrod, of Ellis Co., Mrs. June Jackson, Turner, Browne and Walter Evans, and two little girls, of this immediate section. Mr. Penrod requests us to extend in behalf of the family, their hearty appreciation of the interest and assistance rendered by the good people of Turlington and Mt. Zion.
