Bio

Danny Leonard Stroud, 80, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Danny was born on January 9, 1938 to William and Velma (Boyer) Stroud in Van Alystyne, Texas. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He worked in the water and sewer departments in the the Cities of Dallas, Irving, Balch Springs, Wilmer and Alvarado retiring from the city of Ennis after 22 years. He is survived by one son, Danny Mel Stroud and wife, Gloria; grandchildren: Danny Kyle Stroud, Rudy Sanchez, Jr., Stacy C. Sanchez and Dora E. Cruz; great-grandchildren: Rudy Sanchez III, Joshua Cruz, Jacob Sanchez and Sophia Martinez and two sisters: Norma LaFleur and Debbie Grider. He is preceded in death by his wives, Nettie Melvina Stroud and Doris Faye Stroud and sister Nancy Grider;two half-sisters, Glenda and Joy Grider and half-brother, Dale Grider. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of his life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
